WAMP or XAMPP alternative that has Imagick already included -


recently lost hard drive had wamp installed , imagick working. else did part me way back. reinstalling win7 , getting working again = nightmare. installed latest version of wamp - no imagick. 3 days of trying solutions on site (and others - sorry) , got nowhere. know of "one shot" installation work out box? maybe fork of 1 of them - looked found nothing or maybe should install ubuntu onto old pc , use web server on home lan? - depreciating gd library time , imagick apparently successor no-one supports imagick natively. jumping through sorts of hoops no guarantee work either have painfully found out. in advance people.

wamp , xampp not speed transition removed gd library imagemagic library , seem neither planning bring products date time soon. leaves many users major problem web site developers need able manipulate images @ time or during work. users not @ reasonably high level of expertize far messing around in guts of (in case, windows) operating systems, nightmare , can downright dangerous. did find seemed viable alternative in wampdeveloper pro unless go looking it, website hush-hush fact going cost on $125 working. find out @ first run after installing.

so options following:

  • put 1 of ubuntu distributions on vm or

  • find old drive, install pc , make pc dual boot using ubuntu distribution.

    the second option "ease" me converting microsoft based os reliance linux based os if not work out, have option create ubuntu vm under windows system (i have used vm while under windows) , use in place of other windows based web server alternatives.

either way able carry on servicing clients , making living without spending money or having stroke due pure frustration.

i may regret decision may start wondering myself "now why did wait long?"
